Zeus Sculptural Pen Holder in Sterling Silver, 18K Gold, Enamel & Gemstones
Zeus Sculptural Pen Holder in Sterling Silver, 18K Gold, Enamel & Gemstones
Previously commissioned. Each new piece is handcrafted upon request.
"Titans vs. Olympians - Zeus" is a sculptural luxury pen holder created within the Konforti family atelier as part of the artistic world of the monumental "Titans vs. Olympians - The Titanomachy" chess collection.
The composition is based on Zeus, King of the Olympians and the principal royal figure of the Olympian side of the original chess set. The sculpture preserves the character, precious materials, craftsmanship, and mythological identity of the original chess figure while transforming it into a functional objet d'art through the integration of a specially designed holder for a fine writing instrument.
Zeus is portrayed as the supreme ruler of Mount Olympus, standing amid sculpted clouds and holding his iconic thunderbolt. An eagle, one of the ancient symbols most closely associated with Zeus and divine sovereignty, rests upon the orb held in his opposite hand. Rich architectural details, precious-metal surfaces, and gemstone accents complete the composition.
Conceived for a desk, library, study, executive interior, or private collection, the piece combines monumental figurative sculpture on a miniature scale with the function of a luxury desk accessory. Rather than treating the pen holder as a separate utilitarian element, the atelier incorporates it directly into the sculptural landscape, allowing a writing instrument to become part of the composition when displayed.
Zeus - King of the Olympians
In Greek mythology, Zeus was the supreme ruler of Mount Olympus and god of the sky, thunder, and lightning.
Born to Cronus and Rhea, Zeus escaped the fate of his siblings, whom Cronus had swallowed in an attempt to prevent a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him. Hidden and raised in secret, Zeus eventually returned, freed his brothers and sisters, and united the Olympian gods against the Titans.
The resulting ten-year war, known as the Titanomachy, ended with the victory of Zeus and the Olympians and established a new divine order with Mount Olympus at its center.
This legendary conflict between the ancient Titans and the new generation of Olympian gods forms the inspiration behind the original "Titans vs. Olympians - The Titanomachy" chess collection and this sculptural desk object.
The "Titans vs. Olympians - The Titanomachy" chess set shown is the original work from which this sculptural pen holder is derived and is presented for reference and artistic context only. The chess set is not included.
