“Napoleonic Cannon” - Sculptural Luxury Paper Holder

“Napoleonic Cannon” is a sculptural luxury paper holder created within the Konforti family atelier, transforming the cannon and flag from the Napoleon side of the monumental “Napoleon I vs. Alexander I” chess set into a functional collectible objet d’art.

The composition features a finely sculpted Napoleonic cannon accompanied by a military flag, executed in 925 sterling silver with contrasting 24K yellow gold gilt, deep tarnished surfaces, and vivid blue hot enamel detailing.

The sculpture rises above an elaborate architectural base decorated with classical gilt ornamentation and transparent blue guilloché hot enamel. Natural lapis lazuli gemstones are set into the upper section, while the lower base is individually carved from natural lapis lazuli, creating a rich contrast between deep blue stone, enamel, silver, and gold.

Overall Height: Approximately 13 cm (5.1 in).

Conceived for a desk, library, study, executive interior, or private collection, the piece combines miniature precious-metal sculpture with the function of an exceptional luxury desk accessory.

The “Napoleon I vs. Alexander I” chess set shown is the original work from which this sculptural paper holder is derived and is presented for reference and artistic context only. The chess set is not included.

Made to Order

This piece is made to order exclusively for its collector. Each example is individually handcrafted within the Konforti family atelier with a lead time of approximately 3.5 months. Due to the handmade nature of the work and the natural characteristics of lapis lazuli, subtle variations may occur between individual examples, making each completed piece unique.

Atelier and Provenance

Each work is created within the Konforti family atelier, a multi-generational workshop led by Inga and Barak Konforti, continuing the artistic legacy established by master artists Ella and Yuri Bogoslavsky. The atelier brings together traditional sculpture, jewelry arts, chasing and engraving, enameling, gilding, precious-metal craftsmanship, and gemstone carving to create collectible objects intended to exist between fine art and the decorative arts.

Each piece is accompanied by documentation and a certificate of authenticity and materials.
