"Titans vs. Olympians - The Titanomachy" is a monumental sculptural chess set conceived as a museum-level collectible and created within the Konforti family atelier in the spirit of the great Imperial workshops of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Executed exclusively as a private commission, this extraordinary work celebrates one of the greatest conflicts in the history of classical mythology-the Titanomachy, the legendary ten-year war that determined the fate of the cosmos. Rather than depicting a conventional military battle, the composition transforms one of humanity's oldest mythological narratives into an extraordinary sculptural chess game, where every move echoes the struggle between the ancient rulers of creation and the new generation of Olympian gods destined to reshape the universe.

Produced only in a very limited number of examples worldwide, each chess set requires many months of dedicated craftsmanship and combines monumental silver sculpture, haute joaillerie techniques, hot enamel artistry, gemstone setting, architectural metalwork, and miniature sculptural composition into a single unified work of art.

Due to the scale and complexity of the project, the atelier undertakes only a limited number of such commissions each year. Every commission is scheduled individually, and a production slot is reserved upon confirmation of the order. Each chess set requires approximately eighteen months (1.5 years) to complete.

Collectors receive complete documentation, certificates of authenticity and materials, and direct communication with the atelier throughout every stage of the creation process.
As part of the commission, the collector receives a complimentary original oil painting of the completed chess set, executed by one of the atelier's artists exclusively for the commission. The painting is hand-signed by all of the artists who participated in the creation of the chess set, serving as a unique artistic companion and an enduring record of the collaborative craftsmanship behind the work.

Historical and Mythological Inspiration
Long before the rise of mankind, before the kingdoms of Greece and the heroes of epic legend, the universe itself was ruled by the Titans-the colossal primordial beings.

Among them ruled the mighty Cronus, who overthrew his own father to establish the reign of the Titans across heaven, earth, and sea. Yet prophecy foretold that Cronus himself would one day be overthrown by one of his own children.

To prevent this destiny, Cronus swallowed each newborn child. Zeus, however, was hidden at birth and secretly raised on the island of Crete. Upon reaching adulthood, he compelled Cronus to release his brothers and sisters and united them against the Titans.

The conflict that followed became known as the Titanomachy, a ten-year war unlike any other in mythology. Mountains were hurled as weapons, oceans rose in fury, thunder split the heavens, and the foundations of the world trembled beneath battles between beings of unimaginable power.

Ultimately Zeus emerged victorious, establishing Mount Olympus as the new seat of divine authority and forever transforming the order of the cosmos.
This legendary struggle between the ancient world and the new age serves as the inspiration for this monumental sculptural chess composition.

During play, every figure performs its traditional role within the timeless strategy of chess.
When displayed as a work of art, however, the chessboard transforms into a dramatic three-dimensional landscape depicting two opposing worlds.
One side represents the realm of the Olympian gods-a magnificent city inspired by Mount Olympus, where gleaming temples rise above the mountains and divine order radiates throughout the landscape.

Opposing it stands the dominion of the Titans-a primordial wilderness of towering mountains and shattered cliffs shaped by the raw forces of creation itself.  Contrasting with the serene architectural harmony of Olympus.

Atelier and Provenance
Each work is created within the Konforti family atelier, a multi-generational workshop led by Inga and Barak Konforti, continuing the artistic legacy established by master artists Ella and Yuri Bogoslavsky.
Every piece is entirely handcrafted using traditional techniques, combining sculpture, jewelry arts, enamel work, miniature painting, and gemstone setting.
As part of the commission, the collector receives a complimentary signed original design sketch, presented as part of the artistic provenance of the work.
