Eden Palace Sterling Silver Napkin Holder | Genesis Judaica Art Sculpture
Eden Palace Sterling Silver Napkin Holder | Genesis Judaica Art Sculpture
Previously commissioned. Each new piece is handcrafted upon request.
A monumental Genesis-themed napkin holder handcrafted in tarnished 925 sterling silver, conceived as a miniature sacred palace rich with biblical symbolism, architectural ornamentation, and sculptural storytelling.
Measuring 30 × 30 × 15 cm (11.81 × 11.81 × 5.91 in), the piece is entirely handmade in solid 925 sterling silver with an oxidized tarnished finish that enhances the depth of the relief work and architectural details.
The exterior is composed of eight ceremonial balconies framed by draped silver curtains, royal arches, and palace-inspired ornamentation. Seven of the exterior windows depict the Seven Days of Creation through deeply sculpted relief scenes inspired by the Book of Genesis. The eighth exterior window presents a vision of the Third Temple appearing above Jerusalem in the heavens.
Each napkin holder is made to order and individually handcrafted within our family atelier, with an estimated production lead time of approximately 5 months from order confirmation. As part of the artistic process and provenance of the work, the client receives a complimentary signed original design sketch prepared by the atelier.
Throughout the composition, the symbolic number seven serves as a repeating spiritual and visual motif, echoing the themes of creation, holiness, and divine order.
Between the windows stand majestic peacocks sculpted in high relief alongside cascading grape clusters, grape leaves, crowns, and flowing vegetal ornamentation inspired by royal Baroque palaces and Art Nouveau decorative language. The Tree of Knowledge also appears within the relief program, connecting the object further to the Genesis narrative.
The interior continues the symbolic cycle with eight additional framed panels. Seven contain representations of the Seven Species of the Land of Israel (Shiv’at HaMinim). The eighth interior window bears the Hebrew Sabbath verse:
“זָכוֹר אֶת יוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת לְקַדְּשׁוֹ”
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”
The sacred inscription is surrounded by sculpted grapevine and grape leaf relief ornamentation, reinforcing the biblical symbolism carried throughout the work.
The base interior panel is engraved with a grand peacock composition surrounded by flowing Baroque and Art Nouveau style lines, creating an immersive ornamental landscape when viewed from above.
Every surface of the piece was designed as part of a unified architectural sculpture, transforming a functional object into a collectible work of museum-style Judaica art.
Materials and techniques include hand-chased 925 sterling silver, sculptural relief engraving, oxidized finishing, and architectural silversmithing executed entirely by hand.
We also create bespoke works on demand, with the possibility to incorporate personalized inscriptions, family dedications, symbolic variations, or custom design modifications while preserving the artistic integrity of the original composition.
Each piece is created within the Konforti family atelier, a multi generational workshop led by Inga and Barak Konforti, and founded by master artists Ella Konforti and Yuri Bogoslavsky. Every work is entirely handcrafted using traditional techniques including wax carving, lost wax casting, hand chasing, engraving, and meticulous sculptural finishing, continuing a shared artistic legacy shaped across generations.
