Duchesse de Polignac Sterling Silver, 24K Gold, Enamel and Ruby Paper Weight
Previously commissioned. Each new piece is handcrafted upon request.
“The Duchesse de Polignac” is a sculptural luxury paper weight created within the Konforti family atelier, transforming the figure of the Duchesse de Polignac from “The Ball - A War of Luxury and Fashion” chess set into a functional collectible objet d’art.
The composition portrays the celebrated French aristocrat in an elaborate courtly gown, capturing the elegance, ceremony, and opulence of the 18th-century aristocratic world that defines the original chess collection. The sculpted figure is executed in sterling silver with contrasting 24K yellow gold gilt and blue and white hot enamel detailing.
Richly modeled details throughout the figure, costume, and ornamentation are complemented by natural garnets, bringing vivid gemstone accents to the precious-metal composition. The figure is elevated upon an additional decorative base, giving the piece greater presence and transforming the original chess sculpture into a substantial luxury desk object.
Overall Height: Approximately 16 cm (6.3 in). Conceived for a desk, library, study, executive interior, or private collection, the piece combines traditional precious-metal sculpture with the function of an exceptional luxury desk accessory.
The “The Ball - A War of Luxury and Fashion” chess set shown is the original work from which this sculptural paper weight is derived and is presented for reference and artistic context only. The chess set is not included.
