Sterling Silver 24K Gold Hanukkah Menorah with Original Oil Painting-Konforti

This exceptional sculptural Hanukkah menorah, or Hanukkiah, named the "Legacy of Light", celebrates the history, faith, and enduring traditions of Hanukkah through an elaborate composition of tarnished 925 sterling silver, 24-karat gold gilding, sculptural ornamentation, and an original oil painting. Conceived as both a functional ceremonial object and an elaborate work of decorative art, the composition brings together the story of the Maccabean Revolt with the traditions through which Hanukkah continues to be celebrated from generation to generation.

Rising behind the menorah is an original oil painting depicting the Maccabean Revolt and the struggle surrounding the Second Temple in Jerusalem. Jewish fighters are portrayed defending their people and sacred traditions against the forces of the Seleucid Empire, while the Beit HaMikdash rises prominently within the composition. The scene recalls the events that ultimately led to the recapture and rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem, the historical foundation of the celebration of Hanukkah.

Nine sculptural candle holders extend across the composition, including the elevated shamash, allowing the artwork to function as a traditional Hanukkiah. 
The Hanukkiah measures approximately 40 cm in width by 40 cm in height (15.7 inches by 15.7 inches), giving the composition a substantial architectural presence while remaining suitable for display on a console, mantel, cabinet, or ceremonial table.

The lower section brings the historical narrative into the present through the figure of a Jewish child lighting the Hanukkiah. Positioned before the monumental painted scene, the child appears almost as though looking through a window into the history behind the tradition he is continuing. The composition creates a visual connection between generations: the sacrifice and perseverance represented in the Maccabean story are remembered through the simple act of kindling the Hanukkah lights centuries later.

Surrounding the child is an abundant arrangement of sculptural objects and symbols associated with Jewish tradition and the celebration of Hanukkah. Grapes and pomegranates evoke abundance and the Land of Israel, while wine cups and an elaborate pitcher recall Jewish ceremonial life and hospitality. A platter of sufganiyot, traditionally enjoyed during Hanukkah in remembrance of the miracle of the oil, introduces a familiar element of the contemporary celebration. Together, these details transform the lower section into an intimate tableau of Jewish memory, family tradition, and continuity.

Every sculptural silver component begins as an original hand-carved wax model created within the Konforti family atelier. Once perfected, the individual elements are cast in 925 sterling silver using the traditional lost-wax casting technique, preserving the intricate forms and textures of the original sculptures. Following casting, each component undergoes extensive hand finishing, including chasing, engraving, fitting, assembly, tarnishing, selective 24-karat gold gilding, and meticulous polishing. 

Every example is individually handcrafted within the Konforti family atelier and produced exclusively to order with an estimated production time of approximately 6 months from order confirmation. As part of the artistic process and provenance of the work, the collector receives a complimentary signed original design sketch prepared by the atelier.
