Each chess set is individually handcrafted within our family atelier, with the possibility of tailoring selected details and color palettes to the client's preferences. The fortress-inspired architecture reflects both the brilliance and monumental scale of Napoleonic warfare during one of history's most consequential military eras.

The chessboard is executed in 925 sterling silver, with 960 silver used beneath the hot enamel decorations and selected elements finished in 24K gold vermeil. The playing squares, chess piece bases, and numerous architectural details along the fortress walls are crafted from natural white and black onyx, creating a striking contrast and distinctive architectural rhythm.

The sculptural chess figures are decorated with hot enamel, while their bases and many ornamental elements of the board are inlaid with natural white and black diamonds, totaling approximately 12 carats. The combination of precious metals, natural gemstones, and traditional enamelwork creates a richly detailed composition of remarkable visual depth.

The principal chess figures portray Emperor Napoleon I, Empress Joséphine, Emperor Alexander I, and Empress Elizabeth Alexeievna, each modeled with careful attention to historical portraiture. The uniforms of officers and soldiers are meticulously rendered to reflect the military attire and distinctive characteristics of the early 19th century.

Each piece is created within the Konforti family atelier, a multi-generational workshop led by Inga and Barak Konforti and founded by master artists Ella and Yuri Bogoslavsky. Every work is entirely handcrafted using traditional silversmithing, sculptural metalwork, hand chasing, enameling, and meticulous gemstone setting, continuing a shared artistic legacy shaped across generations.
