Jerusalem Stone Candlesticks with Sterling Silver & Original Oil Paintings
Jerusalem Stone Candlesticks with Sterling Silver & Original Oil Paintings
Previously commissioned. Each new piece is handcrafted upon request.
These handcrafted luxury Sabbath candlesticks, titled "The Eternal Jerusalem," are conceived as a celebration of the eternal bond between Jerusalem, Jewish tradition, and the sanctity of the Sabbath. Combining the natural beauty of Jerusalem stone with masterful silverwork and original religious paintings, the composition unites architecture, sculpture, fine art, and traditional craftsmanship into a museum-quality ceremonial work. Designed both as functional Sabbath candlesticks and as exceptional decorative works of art, the pair reflects centuries of Jewish artistic tradition while expressing the contemporary vision of the Konforti family atelier.
Each candlestick is individually hand carved from authentic Jerusalem stone, preserving its distinctive texture and natural character while transforming it into an elegant architectural composition reminiscent of the timeless masonry found throughout the Holy City.
Each candlestick measures approximately 36 cm (14.2 inches) in height, creating impressive proportions ideally suited for Sabbath tables, luxury residences, synagogues, executive offices, distinguished Judaica collections, and museum-quality exhibitions.
Every pair is individually handcrafted within the Konforti family atelier and produced entirely to order with a lead time of approximately 3.5 months from order confirmation. As part of the artistic process and provenance of the work, each collector receives a complimentary signed original design sketch prepared by the atelier.
At the heart of each candlestick are two original oil paintings created by master artist Yuri Bogoslavsky on Kosher Klaf (parchment), a material traditionally reserved for the writing of sacred Jewish texts. Every painting is individually executed by hand, transforming each candlestick into a unique work of original fine art. On the first candlestick, one painting depicts the Seven Species (Shivat HaMinim) through an abundant arrangement of figs, pomegranates, grapes, and wheat set before the rolling Jerusalem mountains, celebrating the agricultural blessings of the Land of Israel. The opposite side portrays an elegant olive oil pitcher accompanied by olive branches, symbolizing peace, abundance, with Jerusalem rising in the background. On the second candlestick, one painting presents a beautifully prepared Sabbath table complete with challah, Sabbath candles, wine, and traditional ceremonial elements, expressing the warmth and sanctity of Shabbat. The reverse side depicts a Kiddush wine cup, a wine pitcher, and pomegranates before the Jerusalem mountains, symbolizing joy, blessing, and the timeless traditions of Jewish family life.
Each candlestick rests upon an architectural sterling silver base decorated with richly colored hot enamel, classical floral ornamentation and set with garnets in the central flowers. complementing the Jerusalem stone while providing both structural elegance and ceremonial function.
Every silver component is individually handcrafted from 925 sterling silver using the traditional lost-wax casting process. Each decorative ornament is first meticulously hand carved in wax before being transferred into sterling silver through centuries-old lost-wax casting techniques. Following casting, every element is individually hand chased, engraved, assembled, polished, and finished by master craftsmen before receiving its brilliant 18-karat yellow gold gilding where appropriate. The result is extraordinary sculptural depth, refined texture, and exceptional artistic precision throughout the entire composition.
One of the accompanying photographs illustrates the traditional artist's pigment powders used in the creation of the original oil paintings. These finely ground mineral and earth pigments represent the raw materials from which the rich colors are carefully prepared before being mixed with the painting medium. Included to provide collectors with a rare glimpse into the classical materials employed in the creation of each original work, the photograph highlights the traditional artistic methods used throughout the creative process.
A matching Jerusalem stone centerpiece, handcrafted in the same materials and artistic style, is available separately to complete the full ceremonial ensemble. The centerpiece shown in lifestyle photographs is offered as an optional companion piece and is not included in the price of this listing.
